Please know that the three most important things about surviving outside are; food, water, and shelter. You can survive days without water, weeks without food, and perhaps hours without shelter. Feel free to add to the list
Tent (or other type of shelter)
Sleeping bag (and anything that can be used to keep you warm)
Water Purifier (UV water purifier would be recommended if you can afford it)
Hand crank radio
Hand crank flash light
Emergency blankets (Not backup blankets, they are called emergency blankets, they come in a package)
Needle and thread (dental floss can work instead of thread)
First Aide kit (Ace bandages)
Seeds to plant food
Food you can buy in bulk (Nuts, Beans, Rice, and I'd suggest getting as much as possible)
I would suggest traveling as far away as possible from any city or houses. Remember, the places they don't want you to go, is probably where you will be safest. Travel in groups. Try to find a place with good vegetation (it is possible to survive in the desert, but it is very hard!). Do not call attention to where you are staying, try to find a place surrounded by trees so overhead helicopters can not spot you from overhead. I would suggest not having a fire for long periods of time during the night (unless for cooking), and try to find other means of warmth (blankets, sleeping bags, emergency blankets). And before fleeing to a spot, I would recommend going their first to see if it has all of the essentials.
There are many websites that you can go on that will give you more information (I wish you all good health!
One more thing that's required to survive outside: research. If you're going to go out and rough it somewhere, make sure that you know what you're doing first. I would recommend first trying to survive by limiting time around crowds first, by keeping your house stocked and limiting your trips out. If your area gets infected badly by one disease or another, make sure that you aren't infected and get out of that population.
On finding a spot outside to stay, make sure that it will be able to sustain you, giving you both fresh/clean water and food, and make sure that the environment will be livable. People shouldn't be likely to go there often, and you should keep a small footprint so that even if they do come by, you'll be hard to find.
As an after note, I probably wouldn't rough it to avoid an illness unless it was rampant in a lot of places, and even then, it wouldn't be a decision I made lightly. (Also, do you guys here get commission from this Colloidal Silver stuff? I've never heard it before, though it does sound strangly familiar, but it sounds like the whole hype about coral calcium.)

No, I do not get commission. I just started this site for informational purposes (this is a free forum), I read on a website that said if anything can stop the Swine flu Colloidal Silver can. It's a super antioxidant, you should look it up. I just put where to buy it, because that is where I am going to buy it from, and I didn't want anyone to have any trouble buying it (since the FDA is trying to make it illegal). You can get it at your local health store for now, but most of the health store places where I live they do not sell it in bulk.
